Cart Abandonment Funnel — How It Works
The Cart Abandonment Funnel shows you exactly where customers are dropping off in your checkout process.
Funnel stages
- Visitors — Total sessions entering your store.
- Added to Cart — Users who added at least one item to their cart.
- Started Checkout — Users who reached the checkout page.
- Completed Purchase — Users who placed an order.
Key metrics displayed
- Cart Abandonment Rate — % of users who added to cart but didn't purchase.
- Checkout Abandonment Rate — % of users who started checkout but didn't complete.
- Overall Conversion Rate — % of all visitors who completed a purchase.
How to read the funnel
The funnel is displayed as a pyramid chart — each row is narrower than the previous, representing the drop-off at that stage. Hover over each row to see the exact count and percentage.
Funnel data is pulled from GA4 e-commerce events (
add_to_cart, begin_checkout, purchase). Make sure GA4 enhanced e-commerce tracking is active on your WooCommerce store.
